2020 Blogwriting Competition

Excellent Engagement from Young Professionals Across the Globe in The Blog Writing Competition 2020

 

In line with this year's campaign #TheFaceBehindMyWaste, the ISWA YPG Blog Writing Competition 2020 ran from Mid-August till the beginning of October 2020. The Blog Competition received 27 Blogs with diverse approaches, nationalities, and gender. The accepted blogs were from 13 countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Colombia, Philippines, Ghana, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leonean, Turkey and Uganda).

 

The blog writing competition gave the opportunity for young professionals around the globe to engage and express their views and opinions on the situation of waste management amid the COVId-19 pandemic, and the opportunities and challenges the pandemic has brought in the waste management sector. This competition has also increased the awareness about waste management by sharing these blogs in several online platforms including personal blogs and in the social media.

 

The ISWA YPG has allocated three prizes for the top three winners, as follows:

 

●      1st winner – Blog publication at Waste Management World magazine and ISWA website – blog section, in addition to a two-year individual ISWA membership (worth up to €400)

●      2nd winner –  a one-year individual ISWA membership (worth up to €200)

●      3rd Winner –  a one-year individual ISWA membership (worth up to €200)

 

Today, we are pleased to announce the three winners in this competition :
