Training on the Solid Waste Emissions Estimation Tool (SWEET v5.0)

The ISWA and SWANA Young Professionals Group hosted a hands-on, two-phase virtual training on the Solid Waste Emissions Estimation Tool (SWEET v5.0), developed by the U.S. EPA, aimed at helping young professionals quantify greenhouse gas emissions across the waste management chain. This interactive training included a foundational session on using the tool, followed by a collaborative team-based case study with presentations and expert review. Participants gained practical skills, received a competition certificate, and connected with a global network of peers.

Webinar: Enhancing Landfill Performance: Volumetric Recovery and Sustainable Waste Management Solution

The webinar aims to provide participants with a practical introduction to modern landfill engineering and innovative technologies for landfill optimisation. Through presentations by experts from Frisoli S.r.l., participants will gain insights into the work of the company and key technical solutions in the sector. Overall, the webinar is designed to offer both technical perspectives on current developments in landfill management.
Webinar: ISWA Young Professionals Group Guide to ISWA World Congress Abstracts and Poster Submissions

This webinar will guide participants through the process of writing a strong and compelling abstract for submission to the ISWA World Congress, taking place 9–11 November in London. The session will provide practical advice on how to structure an effective abstract, highlight key messages, and align submissions with the expectations of the congress review process.
Drawing on expertise from ISWA, CIWM, and examples from previously successful submissions, the webinar will also explore how a well-written abstract can be further developed into a high-quality poster presentation if selected. Participants will gain insights and tips to improve the clarity, impact, and competitiveness of their submissions.
