ISWA Germany Study Tour 2024

The national membership of Germany at ISWA is proud to present the ISWA-Germany Study Tour 2024, an unparalleled opportunity for young waste management professionals to gain in-depth knowledge on designing, financing, and operating sustainable decentralized recycling and waste management systems. This exclusive event is tailored for professionals with a maximum of five years of work experience.

The ISWA-Germany Study Tour 2024 is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of successful waste management practices spanning 40 years of German expertise. The tour will feature:

  • Expert Lectures: Engage with leading industry experts through informative lectures, delving into the latest advancements and best practices in waste management.
  • Site Visits: Explore three diverse waste management sites, gaining valuable insights into real-world applications of sustainable waste management techniques.
  • Interactive Discussions: Participate in thought-provoking discussions, facilitating knowledge exchange and networking opportunities among participants.

Key Objectives:

Participants will have the unique opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical implementation, enabling them to establish and manage small to medium-sized recycling and waste treatment centers efficiently. By the end of the tour, attendees will be equipped with the skills and expertise necessary to contribute significantly to the field of waste management.

How to Participate:

The study tour is limited to 25 young waste management professionals. More details regarding fees and registration will be announced soon on the ISWA website.

ISWA YPG Flagship Project 2023

ISWA YPG, with the support of UN-Habitat’s Waste Wise Cities Program, is thrilled to announce a call for best practices on creating zero-waste communities.

If your city or community has successfully implemented an initiative to reduce waste generation, increase recycling rates, or promote sustainable consumption, we want to hear from you! Your experiences can contribute to a larger knowledge-sharing effort that will help other cities and communities worldwide create more sustainable and waste-free environments.

The winning best practice shall be awarded 1000 EUROs and One year paid ISWA membership.

We’re searching for best practices that showcase innovative, effective, and replicable awareness and education initiatives that have achieved measurable outcomes.

To participate, download the template and submit your best practice with supporting materials such as educational materials, posters, flyers, videos, and pictures of the initiative implementation to ypg@iswa.org.

ISWA World Congress 2023

As previous years, ISWA YPG will be meeting again at this year’s ISWA World Congress!

We will be hosting a networking session at the ISWA Booth on Day 1 of the congress – Monday, 30 October 2023 and we will have an in-depth presentation on the YPG’s technical activities from previous years on Day 3 – Wednesday, 1 November 2023.

We look forward to meeting everyone again in person!
